When you have a small company you have to make the most of everything that you have to hand, and this in no way excludes your most valuable assets: your staff. If you look after your staff well then it will pay back in the long term, not only because they will be happy at their work but also because this will most likely be rewarded with loyalty to the company.
There are many ways in which you can make the workplace a better place, and there are many ways in which you can make the office environment a happier place, but we all know that, many people do not consider that healthiness is also a factor in keeping a happy workplace. Be it through arranging group sporting activities [competitive and non competitive] or through providing good group health insurance in the long run it is all going to pay off. Healthier workers take less days off ill, they are more vigorous whilst at work, and if they play a team sport together this will enhance their teamwork.
Of course this is not the only solution, there are many factors that must all fall into place in order that your business will thrive, but all of them must happen, so get your team working for you, and much more important getting them to work for the business as a whole.
