Reports are coming across from the other side of the pond, of a new scam which involves selling cheap, yet ultimately worthless healthinsurance policies to small and medium businesses and self employed businessmen. Taking advantage of the need for business to try to tighten their belts in these days of economic woes.

And we in the United Kingdom should keep our eyes peeled for anything similar, because it's not as if there is some better class of conman depending on which side of the atlantic you are. and of course everyone is on the look out for much more beneficial self employed health insurance plans, when the cashflow is not as good as always.

Of course the best way to be sure of how genuine any salesman is, would be to check their ID. Or, better, you should try and get it direct from a company that you trust, but most importantly you should remember that if it seems too good to be true then it most certainly is too good to be true.
